Germanistik Online

Germanistik is the central international reporting organ for the study of German language and literature, including peripheral areas. Germanistik is now also available as a cumulative online database. This means that 50 years of systematic, indexed and critically indexed specialist history of German studies, in over 60,000 short abstracts, can be electronically searched.

In total, around 340,000 monographs, anthologies and journals from the fields of literature, theater studies, media studies, cultural history and linguistics are being indexed bibliographically.

The database allows access to the extensive subject indexing for each title listed in order to find out about the content of the respective book or article. It offers a category-specific full-text and detailed search with differentiated and convenient access to authors, editors, writers, titles, abstracts, publication years and keywords. All relevant data is linked to one another.

The database is continuously expanded to include the current year with around 8,000 new records and over 1,000 abstracts.
