With avldigital.de , the specialist information service offers general and comparative literary studies (FID AVL) an online portal that combines professional research tool, publication services and information services under one roof. The offer arises in a close exchange with research and aims to take into account the current literature and information requirement of comparative. The content is equally based on a "wide" definition of the subject (which, in addition to concrete comparative research literature, also takes into account publications from individual philologies, theater, film and media science, cultural studies and aesthetics) such as a "tight" profile, which focuses on the comparison and theory. The research literature acquired by FID at UB Frankfurt and the stocks of the former special collection area AVL are also recorded here.
The module "Publishing" offers a technical document server and an e-journal hosting service. Current research contributions in open access can systematically be made available through cooperation with research institutions and specialist publishers.
The module "networking" serves as a communication platform for the comparative specialist community and as an interface for comparative abroad. In the researcher directory, people can create a simple profile to present their research activity. Current reports such as Calls for Papers, event announcements and tenders can be distributed.
