Historische Bibliographie Online

The two closely linked databases "Historische Bibliographie" (Historical Bibliography) and "Jahrbuch der historischen Forschung" (Yearbook of Historical Research) were established and edited by the Association of Historical Research Institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany (AHF), founded in 1972. They enable comprehensive searches for independent and dependent specialist historical literature:

The Historical Bibliography documents the specialist historical literature currently published by German historians, supplemented by a selection of foreign titles. Currently (as of July 2020) 358,551 bibliographic entries can be searched in the Historical Bibliography.
The Yearbook of Historical Research documents historical specialist literature and dissertations which have been written at German university and non-university research institutions, i.e. which have not yet been published. At present (as of July 2020) 8,758 titles of ongoing work are listed.

Since 2010 the Historical Bibliography has been freely available on the Internet. The HBO and the "Jahrbuch der historischen Forschung" have not been updated since the dissolution of the AHF in 2013.
